A woman in New York who was using TikTok to sell unauthorized weight-loss drugs, including products labeled Ozempic, is facing charges of smuggling and receiving and distributing misbranded drugs, federal prosecutors said. The arrest on Wednesday of Isis Navarro Reyes, 36, who also went by Beraly Navarro and, according to prosecutors, was not licensed to administer medication, followed an investigation that involved an undercover officer. Late last year, the officer sent a message to a cellphone number listed by her at the end of a TikTok video. In the video, Ms. Reyes, of Shirley, N.Y., on Long Island, showed her viewers how to inject what she claimed was Ozempic and shared her experience using the drug. In January, after exchanging messages with Ms. Reyes, the officer asked to buy some Ozempic, a drug for diabetes that has become popular for weight loss.

CNN —Two candidates for mayor of the central Mexican town of Maravatio were killed just hours apart, according to the Prosecutor’s Office of Michoacan state. Pérez was found on Monday evening, while Reyes had been found a few hours earlier near the hospital where he worked as a doctor. In January alone there were 36 events associated with political-electoral violence, according to data from Data Cívica, a civil association dedicated to data analysis. Eight candidates have been killed since last September when the current electoral process began, according to a report from Intergralia Consultants. Criminal gangs are known to finance campaigns during election season, intimidating candidates and violently intervening to compel politicians to cooperate with them, the report wrote.

A high school committee in Massachusetts has asked the National Guard for help as it struggles to rein in student violence and drug abuse in its halls. "The National Guard does bring positivity, we use them to deploy COVID vaccinations." CNN —The man who stole and leaked former President Donald Trump and thousands of other’s tax records has been sentenced to five years in prison. In October, Charles Littlejohn, 38, pleaded guilty to one count of unauthorized disclosures of income tax returns. According to his plea agreement, he stole Trump’s tax returns along with the tax data of “thousands of the nation’s wealthiest people,” while working for a consulting firm with contracts with the Internal Revenue Service. Reyes was also critical of the Justice Department’s decision to only bring one count against Littlejohn. “I acted out of a sincere misguided belief,” Littlejohn said in court Monday, adding that he was serving the country and that people had a right to the tax information.

Finland was the opposite of my hometown in Bogotá, Colombia, and completely unlike my Caribbean background, where 40 degrees Celsius, beaches, and sunshine are the norm. I saw on social media that Finland was ranked one of the happiest countries in the world. Ironically, Colombia was up there on this list, but I felt I needed to experience Finland for myself. I'm sure smaller cities within Finland might not be as receptive to foreigners as the bigger cities, but they're becoming increasingly inclusive.
